Cover Up, But Not Too Much!

sexy halter topsJust because you aren’t a free spirit doesn’t mean you don’t have the right to go braless. Most women know that bras can be uncomfortable, restricting and that they don’t always look good under clothing. Then again, some styles of shirts and dresses simply don’t work with a bra. Dresses with plunging backs and sexy halter tops are better worn braless. Weather, however, poses another concern. Some women don’t want to show too much!

Nipple covers are a great alternative to bras. These little round covers provide a discrete, comfortable and smooth look under any garment. Evening dresses, thin t-shirts, tube tops, sports bars and bikinis can all be accented through the use of nipple covers. Now women can feel free to go braless and protect their modesty.

Planning a Romantic Evening

mini micro bikiniWomen and men need a little romance now and then, and while spontaneous romance can be fun, the expectation and anticipation associated with a planned romantic evening can also be enjoyable. When it comes to planning a romantic evening, a lot of the time the duty tends to fall to women. To start planning a romantic evening for a male partner, first address the needs for dinner. While dinner can be a favorite food, it’s also fun to plan to eat something a little out of the ordinary.  You might think about foods from different cultures, just remember to skimp on the onions!  Dessert can be a lot more fun than dinner, and might involve creative use of whipped cream, strawberries, and ice cubes. Consider a mini micro bikini, costumes or props for a memorable experience.

It’s good for couples to have a bit of romance on a week to week basis; you might even consider making one night per week a couples night. Trade off on who does the planning and you’re sure to have more than a few fun surprises!

Belts That Shimmer

rhinestone beltsMy best friend Stacey is your stereotypical shopaholic. Her closets – yes, she has two – are filled, floor to ceiling, with a wardrobe that dates back to the beginning of her obsession: sophomore year. She uses her coat closet to store nothing but fashion magazines – I swear there are more than 200 copies in there. And all the while, she is constantly on the lookout for the latest fashion trend or bargain sale to renew look.

I find it difficult to tolerate her antics at the shopping mall because Lord knows how long she can spend in the fitting room of just one department store. However, against my better judgment I accompanied her to an outlet mall last weekend. The days started off slow, that is, until we discovered a store we’d never heard of before; they specialized in rhinestone belts. I became completely overjoyed with our newfound fashion source; I even purchased a purple belt for myself. Stacey bought seven.

Spice Up Your Married Life

sexy rompersEvery long term couple reaches some point where they feel like they’re in a bit of a slump. Especially if you’ve been together a long time, it’s easy to feel like your lives are simply too busy for romance, but with a little bit of effort, that is usually a pretty easy fix. If you find that you’re still very much in love but have lost some of that immediate passion, try doing various things to spice up your marriage.

This can include taking sexy photos for your significant other. Dress up in sexy rompers for the maximum allure, as these articles of clothing won’t reveal everything. Give them as a gift, or make it a surprise and leave them somewhere unexpected but somewhere where the person is sure to find them. Just make sure these photos don’t get into the wrong hands. If you’re concerned about them being discovered by someone other than your spouse, delete the digital images, and make sure no one is going to inadvertently discover the product of your naughty photo shoot!

Lingerie: A ‘Brief’ History

Friday, May 21, 2010        add comment | ( 0 Comments)

gstringLingerie is a term for fashionable and alluring women’s undergarments. It derives from the French word linge, “washables” – as in faire le linge, “do the laundry” – and ultimately from lin for washable linen, the fabric from which European undergarments were made before the general introduction of cotton from Egypt and then from India.

While the term in the French language applies to all undergarments for either gender, in English it is applied specifically to those women’s undergarments designed to be visually appealing or erotic, typically incorporating materials such as Lycra, nylon (nylon tricot), polyester, satin, lace and/or silk and not applied to functional cotton undergarments. It is commonly pronounced in English with a faux French pronunciation.

The concept of lingerie being visually appealing was a development of the later nineteenth century. Up through the first half of the 20th century women selected underwear for three major purposes: to alter their shape (first with corsets and later with girdles or bras), for reasons of hygiene, or for modesty. Women’s underwear before the invention of the crinoline was often very large and bulky. As the 20th century progressed underwear became smaller and more form fitting. In the 1960s ‘controversial’ lingerie manufacturers begin to glamorize lingerie and the idea of lingerie having a sexual appeal slowly developed, including the popularization of thongs and the g string bikini.

Just Because

booty shortsIt goes without saying that the special woman in your life deserves thoughtful gifts on all the traditional occasions: her birthday, Valentine’s Day, Christmas and so forth. But it’s often the unexpected gestures – the “just because” gifts – that leave a lasting impression. Wives and girlfriends like to know that their significant other is thinking of them, and creative gifts speak volumes.

Erotic lingerie, like a pair of booty shorts, is a particularly effective present, especially when preceded by a romantic evening out. Make reservations well in advance at a swanky restaurant, then bring it all home back at your place by presenting the gift. Chances are, she’ll appreciate your efforts and find a way to reward them. The rest is up to you.

Playing Dress-Up

sexy costumesWe’ve all heard of that phenomenon known as the “seven-year itch.” Years spent with the same mate can cause what was once a fresh, vibrant sex life to grow stale. If you and your partner are beginning to grow bored with the same old routine, try adding some exciting new role-playing elements.

Your choices are only limited by the widest bounds of your imagination; sexy costumes could transform you into anything from a naughty nurse outfit to a seductive genie or a camouflaged military commando. Multi-part costumes allow your partner to get in on the act: every nurse needs a doctor, and every policewoman needs a nefarious criminal to arrest. The possibilities are practically endless, but one thing is for certain: You won’t have to worry about that seven-year itch for a while.

Let Him Know He’s Special

sexy army girl costumeWhile dressing in sexy lingerie on a night to night basis is a little impractical, it’s nice to let your man know that he’s special now and then. Don’t be afraid to dress up in an outfit that might even be a little out of character, because chances are, he’ll love it! It’s a fact that good relationships are those that have a little bit of the unexpected involved on a regular basis.  To keep from feeling like the relationship is growing stale, surprise him one evening with tantalizing lingerie or sexy army girl costume.  He’ll love the attention and in turn will seek to repay you. It’s important to have this kind of back and forth in the relationship because it keeps it fresh.

More important than a little back and forth is showing appreciation. When couples show gratitude even for little favors or compliments it shows the other party that they’re appreciated and encourages continuation. While surprises can be nice, scheduling a romantic evening once a week can also be a great idea, especially if you both have busy schedules.

Fishnet For Bachelorettes

fishnet topMy girlfriend’s bachelorette party was coming up and I didn’t know what to get her. I knew all of our other friends would be getting her cheesy lingerie and I didn’t want to follow suit. After looking online at some specialty intimate wear websites, I found the perfect gift.

It was sexy but not trashy. It was unique but not over the top. It was elegant without being prudish. It was a fishnet top. I don’t know why it hadn’t crossed by mind earlier. I knew she would love it and probably put it to good use during her honeymoon. I decided to order the red one with black-ribbon trim and I couldn’t wait to give it to her.

Wardrobe Faux Pas

WildChildMiniSkirtThe mini skirt has been popular ever since its debut in the early 1960s. Since that time girls and women of all ages have enjoyed wearing the little skirts that show off their gams. But, many women may wonder whether there’s an age at which they should stop donning their favorite mini dresses.

It goes without saying that whether or not to wear a mini depends of the condition of one’s body –if your legs aren’t your best asset then you may want to cover them up a bit more. A marketing professional in Britain thought it would be a good idea to run a survey in order to shed some light on this question.

The overwhelming answer was that women should pack away their mini skirts at the age of 28. Some other interesting responses were also garnered from the survey of women. Bikinis? Women should not wear them after 48. Tubes tops should not grace a woman’s closet if she’s over 33. Remove those belly-button piercings when you turn 36. And, long hair is no longer in fashion for ladies over 52.
