Add Sparkle to Beach Attire
Not all beachwear is made equal. I’m not sure when designers decided that women wanted to dress in neutral colors because my own observations show that most women who wear bikinis want to strut their stuff. My recommendation is: ditch the boring beachwear in favor of some sparkle!
If you’re going to wear and itty-bitty bikini, then go with bold hues like red, orange, and turquoise. Add some sparkle in the form of a rhinestone bikini top or body jewelry, although you may have to take the latter off when you go in the water. Don’t forget to accessorize with colorful sarongs, oversized sunglasses, and bedazzled flip flops.
The Art Of Burlesque
The art of Burlesque dancing has been around for years. It is an art form all its own. There are elaborate costumes that are warn and slowly discarded to reveal almost nothing at all. The shows are still around today. It’s a more tasteful display of theatrical strip tease.
Burlesque dancers are not completely nude at the end of their dance. They tend to have rhinestone pasties. It covers just enough to still be classy. It is an art form all its own.
Perfect Anniversary Gift
When your anniversary comes up, it can be really difficult to find the right gift. When you’re a husband it can be especially hard. You don’t want to give your wife just any old thing. A vacuum is completely out of the question.
Jewelry is the gift that keeps on giving. As a husband, you can not go wrong with giving something like a beautiful rhinestone necklace. Rhinestone necklaces are beautiful and unique. Every woman loves a beautiful piece of jewelry.
Coveted Mardi Gras Throws
If you’ve ever witnessed a Mardi Gras parade, particularly in New Orleans, then you know how important throws can be. Traditionally, Mardi Gras beads are thrown out, but in addition to the colorful beads, there are some unusual throws. The Krewe of Tucks throws out miniature squirting toilets, plungers, and a flyswatter with the image of Friar Tuck, their namesake.
The all-female krewe, Muses, is well-known for distributing some of the most coveted items of the Carnival season. Muses gave out plush wildlife creatures in honor of the animals affected by the BP oil spill. Other coveted items are a glittery notepad, light-up hair barrettes, and a rhinestone bracelet. The “Museuzela” – a take on the plastic horn made infamous at last year’s World Cup – also made their debut.
Accessorize with Sparkle
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend… so long as you can afford the expensive price tag. What’s a girl on a budget to do? Rhinestones are the perfect solution to getting your sparkle fix on a budget. Rhinestones imitate the sparkle and shine of diamonds without inducing sticker shock.
You can pair rhinestone earrings with any outfit, daytime or nighttime, for extra “oomph.” I particularly love wearing big, bold Austrian crystal rhinestone earrings with a little black dress. The way the rhinestones cascade down from my ear lobes to my collar bone is elegant and sexy, particularly if the dress is strapless. There are also fantastic rhinestone bracelets, rings, and necklaces you can wear that really make a statement.
An Abridged History of Rhinestone Jewelry
When you think of rhinestones, you might be forgiven for looking back fondly on the late ’70s and early ’80s. Back then, Glen Campbell had sent the popular fashion accessory into the stratosphere with his chart-topping hit “Rhinestone Cowboy.” In fact, rhinestones have been used as embellishments on garments and highlights in jewelry for centuries. In the 13th century, the merchant elite in Bohemia wore them in Prague and other cultural centers.
In the 1920s, famous fashion designer Coco Chanel was instrumental in bringing about a style revolution. The de facto dress code had changed from modest and conservative to loose and unrestrained. Colorful gems were all the rage, and the colored glass pieces of rhinestone jewelry became popular across America. As we all know, fashion is cyclical. It should come as no surprise that these accoutrements have once again found favor in fashionable circles.
Show Off Your Hot New Body
It’s tough to lose weight. For many women it’s a struggle to balance a career, kids, a husband, and to make time for the gym each day. So if you’ve been working hard at getting your self in shape and toning up those muscles, why not show it off a little? Wearing a sexy bikini is a perfect way to debut your new body.
You’ve worked hard and people will be impressed by the fruits of your labor. Make your husband drool and other women green with envy by suiting up for the beach in a new rhinestone bikini. These bikinis cover just enough without hiding any of your sexy curves. Next time you hit the pool or the beach make mouths water by wearing a barely-there bikini.
Belts That Shimmer
My best friend Stacey is your stereotypical shopaholic. Her closets – yes, she has two – are filled, floor to ceiling, with a wardrobe that dates back to the beginning of her obsession: sophomore year. She uses her coat closet to store nothing but fashion magazines – I swear there are more than 200 copies in there. And all the while, she is constantly on the lookout for the latest fashion trend or bargain sale to renew look.
I find it difficult to tolerate her antics at the shopping mall because Lord knows how long she can spend in the fitting room of just one department store. However, against my better judgment I accompanied her to an outlet mall last weekend. The days started off slow, that is, until we discovered a store we’d never heard of before; they specialized in rhinestone belts. I became completely overjoyed with our newfound fashion source; I even purchased a purple belt for myself. Stacey bought seven.
Spice It Up In The Bedroom
Women love to light up a room with their beauty. There’s nothing more satisfying for a woman than to turn heads when she enters a party, or receive stares and whistles in a public place. Women also want to hear bells and whistles in the bedroom. It’s no fun when your man is already asleep before you have even finished brushing your teeth.
Don’t deal with bedroom boredom anymore. Bring out the big guns. Get some sexy rhinestone tops to wow your man with. Slide on those sparkling panties, do a sexy little dance for your lover, turn the lights off, and enjoy the reaction you’ve created.
Repairing Rhinestone Belts and Chains
Rhinestone belts are definitely made to wear and, as with any item of clothing, some times, accidents happen. Once a chain, or line, of rhinestones has been broken there are two ways to repair it. The break often occurs when the double “T” connector fails. This is usually the result of the chain being pulled on too tightly, or bent with too much pressure. To be repaired, the damaged “T” and the cup holding it must be removed. Gently straighten the four prongs and remove the stone. With the tip of a pair of needle nose pliers, gently spread the cup open and remove the damaged “T”. Perform the same procedure on the next cup and remove the stone. Then gently spread the cup open and insert the two exposed “T’s” into the cup to repair the chain. Once this is done, gently squeeze the cup closed to secure the “T’s” in place and reset the stones, carefully bending the prongs to secure the stones. The chain is now repaired.
An alternative method of repair is to wire the broken segments to together using a thin wire, such as that found in a twist tie. To repair, wrap the wire around the space before the broken link. Holding the broken segments together, continue to wrap the wire around the space following the break. this should secure the chain so that it is usable. If done correctly, the connection should not be too noticeable.
NOTE: SOLDERING WITH A HOME MODEL SOLDERING GUN WILL NOT HOLD. Also, the heat generated will cause the metal to turn black, and the foil behind the stone will turn dark, making the stone appear black.
