Add Sparkle to Beach Attire
Not all beachwear is made equal. I’m not sure when designers decided that women wanted to dress in neutral colors because my own observations show that most women who wear bikinis want to strut their stuff. My recommendation is: ditch the boring beachwear in favor of some sparkle!
If you’re going to wear and itty-bitty bikini, then go with bold hues like red, orange, and turquoise. Add some sparkle in the form of a rhinestone bikini top or body jewelry, although you may have to take the latter off when you go in the water. Don’t forget to accessorize with colorful sarongs, oversized sunglasses, and bedazzled flip flops.
Crop Top Trend
Did you know that crop tops originated as a men’s wear trend? It’s hard to believe given the prevalence of crop tops in women’s fashions during the 1990s. Though the popularity of the crop top has declined a bit from the Britney Spears “Hit Me Baby One More Time” era, it still is a persistent fashion trend.
When selecting a crop top the quality of the fabric is important. Tighter fitting crop tops look best in thick opaque fabrics. Loose fitting crop tops are best when made from lighter material, like lace, because it drapes more elegantly over the body.
Christmas At The Beach
In most families it’s traditional to all gather at one relative’s home and open gifts together early Christmas morning. When I and my cousins were younger our family would partake in these traditions. Now that we kids are all grown up, our family has collectively decided that this year for Christmas we’re escaping the cold and snow in favor of sandy beaches.
The whole family will be spending Christmas through New Year’s in the Caribbean. Lounging on the beach catching up with my extended family sounds like a dream. I can’t wait to start packing my sexy swimwear and tanning lotion. Merry Christmas, indeed!
London Club Wear
During college I spent a semester studying in London. Our first weekend in the city, I went with several of my roommates to a club downtown. Where I’m from, typical club wear is skinny jeans and a dressy top, so that’s what I wore to the club. As we arrived in the line, I quickly realized that I was under dressed.
