No Dress Code For Us
In California we would get horrific Indian summers. It would be the worst right before school started is when it would hit hard. The worst part is that at our school there was a dress code. We weren’t allowed to wear certain things to school no matter the weather was like.
One year when it was a record breaking heat wave all the students decided to boycott the dress code. The girls especially were the ring leaders. There was no way we where not going to wear halter tops and shorts to school. Since it was all over the news the record breaking heat wave was not going to end the school board amended the dress code.
The Little Black Dress
Every woman needs in her closet a little black dress. They are the most versatile in a wardrobe. You can accessorize a little black dress with anything. Dress it up or you can dress it down.
Cocktail dresses, especially black ones are the best to have. No matter what occasion, it can go with anything. It is the most flattering for any body type. Black is a very slimming color. There is nothing like a little black cocktail dress.
The Cutest Little Ruffle Bikini
The cutest thing about the summer is going to the beach and seeing all the little babies in their bathing suits. They are so cute when they are all accessorized from head to toe. Their little hats and sunglasses are so cute. Moms really take great care in putting their babies in the cutest suits.
A ruffle bikini is the most adorable to see on a little baby. My all time favorite is the ones that are red and white polka dots. Little toddlers stumbling around in their little ruffled bottoms playing in the sand. It has to be the cutest thing to witness in the summer.
A Black-Tie Affair
The worst part about going to a fancy dinner party is all the preparation that it takes to get ready. You have to get your hair done, your nails and your makeup. The shopping is about the worst part of it all. Trying to find the right dress can be so trying.
When I got invited to my first black-tie affair, I had to find an evening dress. I looked at countless evening dresses. I must have tried on every color under the sun. The one that I finally settled on was black with rhinestones. It wasn’t as god awful as some of the previous dresses, so that was a plus. The evening was actually, to my surprise, a success.

Dress for a Special Evening
I’ll be the first to admit that I live in my jeans and t-shirts. They’re comfortable and easy to throw on if I oversleep. Every now and then, I don’t mind playing dress up. My boyfriend definitely loves seeing me in more formal outfits, so sometimes he plans special evenings that come with a dress code.
Last weekend he planned one such evening. He made reservations at a fancy restaurant downtown that has a strict jacket and tie policy.
