Beyond The Basics – Specialty G Strings
We previously told you about several basic styles of g strings. Keep in mind that a g string is technically a thong. However, where as a thong actually has a fabric back panel, a g string only has a tiny string up the back.
Basic G strings have a front panel of variable size with string sides and back. However, these next G strings are what we call “specialty G Strings”. The Suspender G String is a G string with extra long side strings which are worn over the shoulders – much like a pair of suspenders. This particular specialty g string is a favorite of exotic dancers.
While all g strings are quite small, the Mini Micro or “Teardrop” G String has little more than an approximately 1/2″ wide strip of fabric for a front panel. Just when we thought we couldn’t find anything any smaller, we came across the Crotchless G String and the Harness G String. Both of these specialty G Strings are little more than connected strips of fabric that leave nothing to the imagination.
Guide To Sexy G Strings
We spent some time researching the various different types of sexy g strings available. While we are sure that this list of G String styles is not exhaustive, it will give you a good idea as to what is out there. We found these main styles of g strings.
A Side Tie G String is just a basic G String with sides that tie. Any of the following styles of G Strings can also be found with side ties. The Chip G String is a very small G String with a small, low cut front panel. The Micro G String is probably one of the smallest G Strings. It is quite similar to the Chip G String but the front panel is even smaller. The Mini G String is a barely there G String with an even smaller front panel.
Types And Styles Of Thongs
Although the issue of what a thong actually is seems pretty straight-forward at first glance, there are actually several varieties of bottom baring lingerie and sexy swimwear with more and more different styles being added every year. However, all are technically considered under the broad category of thongs.
One of the most common sub-categories of thongs is the G-String. When people refer to “butt floss” or any other such lovely term, they are picturing a g-string. A G String has little more than a triangle of fabric in the front and a thin string around the hips and between the cheeks. This is truly minimalist sexy underwear.

Here’s how to keep your sexy thong or g string looking hot and sexy:
- Run some cold water into the sink and add a few drops of any commercial hand washing detergent, think Woolite. Don’t use regular laundry detergent, shampoo, a bar of soap, or dishwashing detergent! If you’re away from home and don’t have access to the right detergent, then rinse with plain water.
- Submerge your thongs in the water and let them soak for a while. Then swish them around for a few seconds while gently squeezing them underwater to force the water and detergent through the fabric’s pores. If you’ve got any scrubbing that needs to be done, do it gently.
- Gently squeeze the water through the material a few more times and then rinse the thongs in running cold water. Lay them flat on a towel and let them dry naturally. Don’t put your thongs in the clothes dryer even on the gentle setting. The heat from the dryer will definitely damage the elastic.
If you absolutely must use a washing machine then use the cold water setting and the delicate or hand wash cycle. Use lingerie bag and toss the bag into the washing machine. Once the washer is finished, allow to air dry. Remember, a clean thong is a happy thong.

The laundry care term “washable” means different things to different people. For myself, I want “washable” to mean I can use a little common sense, sort the colors, throw it into the washer, into the dryer, hang it up and then wear it without having to iron it first. To guys – in general, and most college students, male or female, washable means to cram as many clothes as possible into the washing machine without regard to water temperature, color or fabric and hope for the best. Well, when it comes to sexy thongs and G Strings, washable means “hand wash only” regardless of the fabric care instruction label.
Even on the most delicate cycle a washing machine puts a lot of stress on fabric. And, since there isn’t much fabric on your average thong (and even less on a g string) to begin with, it doesn’t need any extra stress; especially when that stress shows up as rough fabric patches, pilling, elastic “hairs” and reduced elasticity.

Thongs and G Strings, while certainly small in size, are not necessarily small in price. While sexy thongs and G Strings can be purchased in quantity from discount stores, a quality thong or G String cost upwards of $15 to $30. So, whether you paid $5 or $30, knowing how to care for your sexy underwear can keep them looking hot for a lot longer.
Thongs are more delicate than the white cotton bikini panties or briefs that most of us wear on a daily basis. Treating a sexy thong or g string as the delicates that they are will extend the life span and appearance. Knowing proper laundry care is important to this end. Regardless of fabric content, most thongs and G Strings are washable.
