Removing Baby Stains From Sexy Clothes

2873SQ---Turq-SilverWe know that everyone loves sexy clothing and not all of you are child free single ladies. Many of you are baby mammas. How many of you have had to make an emergency clothing change just as you were giving the sitter last minute instructions and kissing your little bundle of joy good night? Probably a lot of you. This leads us to our next sexy clothing stain issue.

Baby Stains (Food, Formula, Poop)

First, scrape off whatever you can.

Fresh protein stains can often be removed by just soaking and agitating in cold water before washing. If hot water is used first, it can cook the protein, causing coagulation between the fibers in the yarns of the fabric, making the stain more difficult to remove.

Soak in cold water using a detergent or enzyme presoak product for about 30 minutes. Soak old stains for at least several hours.

Launder in warm (not hot) water, rinse, and inspect. If stain remains, soak an additional 30 minutes, then rewash.

**Never put a stained fabric in a dryer. The heat from the dryer can set the stain.

If color stain remains, launder using chlorine bleach if safe for the fabric, or with all fabric bleach. However, if bleach is used, rewash to be sure all bleach has been removed.

We have not personally tried this one but, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, adding one cup of white vinegar to each laundry load during the rinse cycle breaks down uric acid and soapy residue, leaving clothes soft and fresh. But, be sure you use WHITE vinegar.

2307LQ SLVRIt’s the end of 2009 and another year is coming to a close. While the majority of the world is focusing on sending off the old year with a big party and ringing in the new year, manufacturers of sexy clothing are finishing up their catalogs for the upcoming year. Now is the time to visit your favorite websites or retail stores. If there is an item you’ve had your eye on but just haven’t purchased, now might be the time to do it.

Most manufacturers catalogs start to roll over to the new year in January and February and many manufacturers are already beginning to close out and discontinue certain styles or colors they will not be carrying over to 2010. While you may or may not be able to get a bargain or even a discount, the time may be drawing to a close for getting that special something in that perfect color. We’ve already noticed that the manufacturers offering for sexy women’s chaps, plentiful in the past several years, certainly appear to be on the decline.

plus size sexy clothesI am a little chubby, but I have never thought of myself as fat. I am 5′6 and weigh 150. I am actually quite proud of my curves. But I still have the toughest time shopping for lingerie. Last Valentines Day was especially hard. I wanted to find something silky, slinky and snug to surprise my man with, but I hated everything I tried on. I didn’t end up buying anything and left feeling defeated.

My boyfriend wouldn’t let me give up in my search for sexy nightwear. And on my birthday he presented me with a gift certificate to a website that offered plus size sexy clothes. On my first visit to the site I found three outfits that I knew would fit me perfectly. I have been a loyal customer ever since. I finally found sexy outfits that fit my personality and my curves!

Dry Cleaning Sexy Clothing Made With Lycra

Sexy clothing and eveningwear with feathers should always be dry cleaned

Many people want to know if they can dry clean their sexy clothing that contains Lycra or Spandex. We checked and most sources say that dry cleaning Lycra is no problem. Although some solvents may temporarily swell the fiber, proper rinsing provided by a professional dry cleaner recovers all stretch and recovery properties of the garment. Lycra does retain the odor of dry cleaning solutions longer than most fibers, but it will disappear if the garment is allowed to air out.

To get the ultimate word on the proper care of garments containing Lycra, we went to DuPont, makers of this indispensable fabric.  According to DuPont, since Lycra is usually only a small component in any fabric, let the other fibers guide your care instructions. If other fibers or the trim or binding of a garment require hand washing, dry cleaning, or low-temperature washing and drying, the needs of this fabric will determine the care instructions. Lycra will easily withstand repeated cleanings of all these types. When in doubt, wash or dry clean according to the primary fiber in the blend.

Royal purple stretch velvet cocktail dressThe holidays are fast approaching and with the holidays comes holiday parties and with holiday parties come sexy clothes. Most items of sexy clothing contain some degree of Lycra and or Spandex. To keep your party clothes and cocktail dresses looking great, it is important to know how to care for them.

Most Lycra/Spandex clothing can be hand or machine washed in lukewarm water on gentle cycle. Be sure to rinse thoroughly as soap residue can damage the fabric. Never use chlorine bleach on any fabric containing Lycra or Spandex. Hang the garment or lay flat to dry. If you machine dry, be sure to use a low temperature.
